Infant Class

Welcome to our Infant Class Pages.

The Infant class teaches and supports children from nursery through to year 2. It is a place where children learn and discover continuously via teacher-led lessons, topic based fun and activities, child-initiated play, enhanced continuous provision and in the moment planning. This enables us to deliver a broad and balanced curriculum in early years and key stage 1 whilst also meeting the individual needs and interests of the children.

We are excited to be starting the new year '2022' and the new term. Our theme for learning is 'Let's Build.' This term will include an author focus on Hans Christian Anderson, looking at human and animal homes particularly those in the Northern Hemisphere, learning and discovering information about cold places and the Arctic circle, expressing ourselves through symmetry in art and going back in time with the Vikings and exploring changes within living memory by contrasting and comparing toys and games from the past and the modern day.

We are extremely excited to be furthering our design and technology skills by taking part in 'Cardboard Chaos Day' on the 13th of January. This will continue our development of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) knowledge and understanding where we will be designing and evaluating various structures.

Please take time to have a look at what the children have been doing in school. Thank you.
