Book characters came to school!

Mar 3, 2017

All children spent the day dressed up as one of their favourite book characters on Thursday 2nd
March. This was to celebrate World Book Day and their love of reading.
The day started off with a parade for children where they could meet and
greet many other book characters. Children then became writers themselves
when they chose a first line from a famous children's story and made the
story their own by creating ideas to come up with a whole new story.
Each class had time to battle out ideas about what makes a story their
favourite and held a class debate.
After lunch, the celebration of books continued when the children had time
to share books with friends and link their topic of food to books too. Mr
Wolf's Pancakes was a very popular story, especially because the day was
rounded off with pancake eating fun!
