British Values

British values are embedded into our wider curriculum at Lees Hill CE Primary School. These are identified as democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect for and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs and for those without faith.

This academic year, our children have taken part in the following activities and experiences, which we believe encapsulate these values:

  • Working together to produce a public performance of ‘Nativity Rocks’, our Christmas production
  • Visiting The Queens Hall Theatre, Hexham for a performance of The Legend of King Arthur
  • Formation of a new school band with public performances
  • Fundraising for Sport’s Relief through swimming
  • Whole school dance creation for performance at the U-Dance festival
  • Participation in Talkin Tarn and Lanercost cross country events
  • Fundraising for Children In Need through a Pyjamas for Pudsey event and cake baking
  • ‘The Travelling Pizza’ harvest festival celebrations
  • Fundraising through Sports For Champions
  • William Howard Football Tournament winners.
  • RE Week learning and celebrations to deepen our understanding of our school Christian ethos
  • Weekly celebration assemblies
  • Visitors to assemblies, including local church representatives
  • Hosting a number of community lunches - welcoming members of the local community to our school;
